The Minnesota Mortgage Association is a member governed organization dedicated to integrity and professionalism in the mortgage industry through education, resources and advocacy.

Association Information

MMA is working for you and your industry. We promote the highest degree of professionalism for those individuals who act as mortgage originators, and to provide ethical and prfessional standards by which all mortgage originators can be measured. We also promote interests of mortgage originators in this state and on a national level. We provide education, certification and government affairs representation for Minnesota's mortgage originator industry.

It is my pleasure to follow the remarkable lead of Paul Schuster and those before him as I begin my term as MMA President. I look forward to representing this diverse group of mortgage professionals who share common business goals and a common desire to do what’s right for Minnesota families seeking affordable housing options. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and this association!

Given the nature of the rapidly changing lending environment, I intend to lead MMA efforts that will:

· ENHANCE the benefits of Individual Memberships through increased resources, training opportunities and other valuable perks.

· LEVERAGE technology, along with our government and private partnerships to continue to deliver timely updates and valuable information. Specifically, we aim to improve how you communicate with the MMA office through improved registration processes, a downloadable calendar of events and a members-only section of the website featuring content from MMA partners.

· FOSTER an open dialogue among members for the purpose of sharing experiences with fraud, buybacks, quality control issues and industry best practices.

· ACTIVELY involve MMA members with State and Federal legislative issues as we continue to work with the MN Department of Commerce and interested parties to craft workable legislation that brings Minnesota into full compliance with the Federal SAFE Act.

Of course, the real benefit of membership is the direct result of active involvement in the association. Your presence at events and your participation with committees is what drives value for everyone, most notably you. And, I’m the perfect example of that. I became active in the association less than five years ago. The people I have met and the things I have learned along the way have allowed me to remain in business over the past few trying years, and I owe much of my success to the MMA and its members.
